This Drumskinny complex may have been built in the second millennium B.C., but the letters MOF on some of the stones are not an indication of the existence of writing at the time, but the initials of the Ministry of Finance which supplied them in places where the excavator found evidence for the former presence of stones which have disappeared.
Location
Only a few hundred yards from the Kesh-Castlederg Road, this stone circle with a diameter of 43 feet proved on excavation in 1962 to have an alignment of 24 small stones running off at a tangent from the circle at a point where a small stone cairn lay outside the circle.Only imagination can come to our aid in seeking to explain the original function of these features.
